January 2007
When Queen's University in Belfast decided on renovating their old PEC and building a 3000 SqM extension costing around £6Million EL&D were asked to specify an Audio system for the new building.
Working closely with David Wilson of Beattie Flanigan Consulting Engineers a specification was produced to allow for the various different requirements.
A total of 12 seperate zones have been provided ranging from 100v line "splashproof" speakers in the changing rooms to low impedance DAS audio speakers in the exercise suites, cardio, weights and spin areas. In most cases local control allows the use of a microphone or CD player to be used in, for example, an exercise suite where the instructor has local control of the music and volume although if neccessary reception can page any, any combination or all zones using Cloud Electronics latest Digital paging mic through Z8II and Z4II Zoner mixers. |
