| December 2008 In 2008 we were approached by Paul Bennett, he asked if we would be interested in installing FX Lighting and Sound in a club, the obvious answer would be “Is the Pope a Catholic?” BUT then he explained the nightclub was located in Nigeria! As it turns out Paul, his partners Trevor Reid and Gabriel Miguel Onyejiaka intended opening a club in Owerri, Imo state, Nigeria. Paul and Trevor had met Miguel (formally from Nigeria but living in Ireland) through other businesses that they were involved in. They explained that music was a big factor in Nigeria so the sound system would have to be a “little bit special” without going overboard on budget. EL&D Ltd. Designed the “FX” lighting and audio systems and put the proposals to the three partners, they were absolutely delighted with the specification and price and the install then became a reality. The club is two storey with the main dance floor on the ground floor, with a VIP area on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the dancefloor, there is also a V-VIP area to the front of the first floor. The DJ booth has a Denon mixer with 2 No. Pioneer CDJ 1000 CD players, and also 2 No. Void Viper V15 cabinets as booth monitors. |
